"Family Rooms . . . Where Memories are Made,"
by William L. Nolan
CWD's addition to the Suttons' home was featured in both Better Homes and Gardens and in the publication's "Remodeling Planning and Products Guide" for Fall/Winter 2000. The Suttons came to CWD with a dining room and kitchen. They wanted to expand into their back yard and create a central gathering place for their family. CWD remodeled the kitchen and turned the dining room into a raised music room. The large and airy family room opens onto the expansive veranda and beautiful back yard. CWD used plenty of windows and two sets of French doors to add light to the family room. A study alcove provides a place for books and a computer, set off from the main room but not isolated. The creative floor plan provides space for music, dining, study and socializing while remaining open and flowing.
