Remodeling Ideas for your Home
(Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications)
"Peaked with Interest" by Anne Patterson
When
Bill and Edie Dagley grew discontented with the master suite in their San
Rafael home, they turned to CWD for a creative solution. CWD moved the wall
of the bedroom out five feet, and added an additional two feet for the closet
section. The extension of the closet both added interior space and created
visual interest outside the house. She added dormer windows and a vaulted
ceiling in the bedroom to admit light without sacrificing privacy, and used
a skylight to light the bathroom. The final result left both owners thrilled;
the article quotes Bill on the height of the ceiling: "It adds a great deal
of openness and airiness" and Edie on the redone bathroom and closet: "I love
the amount of space in the bathroom and closet . . . I also love the light
in there. It's a cheerful place to be anytime of day" (107). visit www.BHG.com
