A once cave-like school gives way to light and playful volume.

• Originally a ranch house with 8-foot ceilings, an addition to the existing structure of this schoolhouse has transformed the classroom into a whimsical space for children.   
• The addition of a loft, high ceilings, clerestory windows and upper cove lighting provides volume and brings in both natural and artificial light. 
• With a focus on line and movement, the school now offers a “sense of entry” from the gateway to the foyer.
